Many of you may have heard the recent news of the catastrophic 7.0 earthquake that hit the Port-Au-Prince area of Haiti. This earthquake is the deadliest of its kind to hit Haiti in more than 200 years.  Many Haitians are wounded, homeless, and [unfortunately] have lost their lives due to this massive quake.

Haiti Missions is in the process of assessing the damage left in the wake of this disaster, as well as, developing a strategic relief effort to the hurt and wounded.

We have been informed as of Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, that our one of our orphanages in Bon Repo has been severely damaged.  Praise be to God that our children that occupied that facility were able to evacuate the building, sparing the lives of a many children.

Unfortunately, Haiti Missions  has been informed that there are some that worked as teachers in the Christian school fell victim to this massive quake.  Our prayers go out to those families.

Our offices at Northern Lights Christian Center have been flooded with calls of support and questions as to how people can contribute to the relief effort being formulated.  We want to extend our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of support and Haiti Missions is in the process of opening an avenue for people to contribute support.

We will keep this site posted as we receive updates on this matter.  Thank you.
